A warm welcome and thank you for stopping by Nourishing Flavours. Here is where I cook and experiment with simple, healthy, wholesome vegetarian food with healthy ingredients that are simple, tasty and nourishing. My vision is to live simply and make sustainable choices for my family
Born in Mumbai (also known as Bombay), the most populated state in India, I grew up eating an amalgamation of food from different cultures and cuisines. I currently reside in Toronto with my husband and my son who is a born foodie.
Cooking is an art – it is true; but to me cooking is like being in the chemistry lab where you mix a bunch of ingredients to create a chemical reaction resulting in the food to taste either good or bad. I love experimenting with global cuisine and focus on eating food that are locally grown, seasonal and organic, if possible.
I was always interested in learning about health and medicine. My journey with living naturally and making healthy sustainable choices started with the birth of my premature son who had eczema and breathing problems. Years later and an undiagnosed digestive disorder, I decided to take it upon myself to heal myself. I read and researched vastly on various disorders, alternative therapies and met with many amazing healers along the way. The journey continues………
I am not a professional photographer nor do I know much about photography. I use a Canon EOS 550D with a 58 mm lens lovingly donated to me by a dear friend. All the photos are my own unless otherwise mentioned.
I would love to hear from you, so please leave your thoughts, comments, suggestions and opinions. We all have different perspectives, feel free to express yours but if you are rude and intrusive – it will not be tolerated and your comments will be promptly deleted.
